After the lease of the W&LE to the Nickel Plate Road ®, in 1949, the original car numbers remained unchanged. Note the W&LE SUB-LESSOR designation under the NYC&STL corporate ownership initials in the upper left corner of the car side. This was reproduced on the model. One road number had NKPHTS 2008 Huron, OH, Convention designation on the end tack board.
