Established in 1978 as the Lionel Collector's Association of Canada, but later known as LCAC - Canada's Train CollectorsSM, they became one of the premiere collector groups in North America. LCAC car projects focused on Canadian railroads.  Some cars were decorated on Lionel®  carbodies. However, in recent years, the Association selected some cars from Crown and Weaver.
While the Association had members from all over Canada, more than half of the total membership lived in the United States. Some members are collectors; many are operators - some are both. Some do 3-rail; some do 2-rail. Recent emphasis on 1/4 inch scale cars expanded the Association's appeal to a wider audience of model rail hobbyists and train enthusiasts. However, the last project was issued in 2008.
