A NOTE TO OUR ELIST SUBSCRIBERS FROM JOHN T. SLATER:
Our long-time friend and colleague, David B. Allen, Jr., has served as webmaster and Director of Internet Services at TrainResource.com since the website was launched. Unfortunately, serious health issues have forced Dave to step down from his position and this will be the first subscriber newsletter produced by our new webmaster, John C. Fryar. We want to take this opportunity to welcome John and to offer our sincerest thanks to Dave for his many years of dedication and hard work on behalf of TrainResource.com and Buffalo Creek Graphics.

NEW RELEASES ANNOUNCED FOR SPRING 2015 DELIVERY

For more than twenty years, Buffalo Creek Graphics has provided its customers with unique O-scale models, designed to prototype
specifications. Our specialty has been major railroads from the Eastern United States and Canada focusing on models never-before offered
in O-scale, each released in True Limited Editions of no more than 100 cars. While our customer base includes operators and collectors, they
all have one thing in common, a love of colorful models of prototype cars from the Golden Age of Railroading. Our new releases for Spring
2015 reflect a growing number of requests for classic refrigerator cars and our Rath Packing Company and Morrell Packing Company are
a perfect fit for anyone operating fast freights on their layouts, or collecting classic reefers from the post-war period.

Each of these new projects are being produced in two prototypically accurate variations as indicated on the enclosed color flyer/order
forms. They include standard painting and lettering schemes of each company as well as schemes associated with the Mather Stock Car Co.
that owned and leased a portion of each company’s refrigerator car fleet.
Beginning in the 1920, the Rath Packing Company of Waterloo, Iowa began leasing refrigerator cars from Mather and, in the early
1940s, began using the stylized Indian Head logo promoting their Black Hawk brand. A second version of the paint scheme soon made its
way into service and utilized the larger Indian Head logo.

The Morrell Packing Company, despite operating under bankruptcy protection after the mid-1920s, continued to operate its fleet of
refrigerator cars under the M.R.X. reporting mark. Continued financial difficulties of the reorganized John Morrell & Company forced the
lease of a fleet of cars from the Mather Stock Car Co. and those cars were identified with the M.O.R.X. reporting mark. However, all cars in the
Morrell fleet were emblazoned with the distinctive red Morrell banner logo until the later “Heart” logo began to appear in the mid-1950s.

Manifest freights hauling long cuts of meat reefers were a common sight on most railroads operating in and out of Chicago. Joining
Rath and Morrell in the Great Meat Packer’s Fleet were cars from other companies like Armour & Co. Swift & Co., Cudahy Packing Co.,
Wilson & Co., E. Kahn’s & Sons, Oscar Mayer, and Debuque Packing Co.
Order now to add the new OH132 Rath and OH133 Morrell refrigerator cars to your manifest fleet.
