ACTION ALERT: Georgia on my mind
June 14, 2008
I doubt that Ray Charles has the Georgia RAIL-road on his mind when he sings, "...The road leads back to you...", but Georgia should definitely be on your mind today. Buffalo Creek Graphics, the exclusive distributor of O Gauge freight cars for Crown Model Decorators, today announced another TRUE Limited Edition of approximately 100 cars. This one is custom decorated for the Georgia Railroad. Around 1996, Buffalo Creek Graphics previously issued the "fancy" light grey, black, red, and white Georgia boxcars, #OH7 (see our Archives for photo). But, have you ever examined photos of trains and rail yards of the Classic Era, 1930 to 1960? Most cars were 40' boxcars, and most were "plain Jane" boxcar red. And, that's what these brand new O Scale freight cars are! But, these models are still attractive and collectible, just as the prototype was practical for moving tons of freight. Now, you can imagine being the shipper or receiver of products from the Empire State of the South. As always... single cars or set of three correct road numbers, prototypically accurate paint scheme, and your choice of 2-rail or 3-rail, standard or die-cast trucks, automatic or scale couplers. Start hummin' the song, and order today at http://www.trainresource.com/Georgia_boxcar.html ----------------------------- Historical note: After Georgia native Ray Charles sang it, the state legislature voted "Georgia On My Mind", by Hoagy Carmichael, the state song on April 24, 1979. -----------------------------
..... for something you won't see on everyone else's layout!
