Since we were able to obtain Builder Photos of both the “2002” and 2003” cars we decided to do a two car set. However, our club membership does not collect or operate “Turn of Century” freight cars so we chose to go with a Steam Era Classic 40’ Wood-Side Composite Refrigeration Car. We used the Scale “O” Weaver model that has molded doors and ladders. The car sides are painted Classic Reefer White and have prototypical Black lettering and turtle graphics. Both cars have a Black roof. The 2002 car has White ends and the 2003 car has Black ends. Shipped NIB with window display box and collector's labeling. Sold out, collectible. HISTORY: The Detroit and Mackinac Ry. began with the reorganization of the Detroit, Bay City and Alpena Railroad in 1894. The railroad was located in the northeast corner of the Lower Peninsula of Michigan. The mainline went from Bay City to Cheboygan along the Lake Huron shoreline. The primary source of revenue came from forest and aggregate products. SEE 2nd car in set and more history >>
