Charles and Frank Centlivre founded the French Brewery in Ft. Wayne, Indiana in 1862. Renamed the C. L. Centlivre Brewing Co. in 1895, the company’s Nickel Plate Beer would become widely known as the brew served on the “Peerless Trio” of name passenger trains on the Nickel Plate Road. Prior to Prohibition, the brewery was producing 30,000 barrels per year, but became the Centlivre Ice & Cold Production Storage Co. in 1919. With repeal of the Volstead Act, the company was re-named the Centlivre Brewing Corp. Quickly moving back into the brewing business, Nickel Plate Beer was again produced for its many thirsty fans. After World War II, the company introduced Nick L. Plate as the brand mascot in tribute to the railroad that had made the Nickel Plate Beer name famous all over the Midwest.

Announced 09-2014, sold out 11-2014.
