Another slice of history
The Spring 2011 TCA Eastern Division Meet in York, PA, was the site for the introduction of a unique Buffalo Creek Graphics custom decorated O Gauge project -- a Fisher Price Toy Co. Commemorative Boxcar.
Created exclusively for Seneca Jct. Toy Train World in Clarence, New York. Each car will be shipped with a letter containing complete information on the project.
Produced under a Letter of Authority from Fisher-Price® and utilizing vintage graphics and colors from the pre-war “golden age” of Fisher Price toy making, the car commemorates the company’s Diamond (75th) anniversary. This TRUE Limited Edition is limited to 150 cars. Cars with this Diamond Jubilee graphic will not be re-issued.
The Fisher Price Toy Co. was founded in 1930. Fisher Price became fully operational when the first toy, "Doctor Doodle", was released in early 1931 (the date on the model boxcar). The company became well-known for its whimsical toy line that featured many early Disney® characters, and the famous "Fisher Price Creed", which was also established in 1931. Fisher-Price® is now part of Mattel, Inc., and is still a major employer in Western New York State. It is headquartered in East Aurora, NY, a small, historic village, located 20 minutes southeast of Buffalo, NY.
